Stakeholder Hypothesis
Small business owners want an easy way to keep in touch with their customers.

I had been tasked with designing two flows for an email marketing campaign web app called WhooshMail. The two flows will walk through the same screens but with two different user roles. The first role we’ll call “Admin” and will have the highest level of access while the second role, “Basic”, will only have access to a few features. WhooshMail is looking to improve the experience for both of these roles with their audience of small business owners and entrepreneurs.

DESIGN PROCESS

Ideate

Meeting with Client/Stakeholder. Turn idea from stakeholders and user research into concept.

Design
Sketch out the product, Create early wireframes and review for feedback.
Develop

Convert the designs into high fidelity mockups, with design system and developer hand off end with prototyping and user testing.

Deploy

Developer stage and launching application/interface.

Problem statement

Through improving the experience for our main user roles (admin and basic), we’d like to see an increase in user retention and also the number of campaigns sent.

I wanted to work directly off of my notes from my user testing and incorporating it with my existing wireframes. The overall feedback was positive but there were a few things I felt lacked and a few improvements I had to make.

I wanted to work directly off of my notes from my user testing and incorporating it with my existing wireframes. The overall feedback was positive but there were a few things I felt lacked and a few improvements I had to make.

I Introduced a site Mascot, named John. John will help “Newbies” with web flow and navigation alongside the clear progress bar, that I also introduced, to fix my “User Guidance/help” problem. John will always be visible as guidance (unless you choose otherwise).

John will also be easy to incorporate in Updates and new features to help users get used to the features or understand them better.
Throughout the interface I used Trigger ( Button Animations) MicroInteractions to also guide users. I wanted to stay away from cluttered text and rather create a clear web flow that visually makes sense.
The progress Bar will always be there to guide users and an easy Wayfinding/navigation, just click on the step you want to go back to and it will navigate to that page directly.

I wanted to make the UX content as Functional as possible and that everything on the interface, and everything that the service reflects, communicate in an easy and user-friendly way. Through this I feel I successfully reached my goals and requirements. There is definitely a space to grow the service and better itself as the service evolves.
